Changing the Conversation on Medical Missions

Involvement in short-term medical missions (STMMs) to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) has exponentially increased in recent years. During these medical missions, health care professionals and trainees from high-income countries provide clinical care and health promotion to global regions that are most desperately in need of healthcare.


Americares is dedicated to helping health centers prepare for disasters so they can continue to provide care for their communities. Americares preparedness experts are providing resources to assist health centers that are on the front lines of health care during a disaster maintain their primary services that are so critical to the vulnerable population they serve.


In partnership with PQMD (Partnership For Quality Medical Donations), the Americares forum is an interactive web platform facilitating a community where Americares Medical Outreach partners can share practical information about relevant topics.
