Founded in 2008
PODEMOS was founded by medical and law students at The Ohio State University and has since expanded to include nursing, pharmacy, dental and law students and professional providers. Since 2009, PODEMOS has run biannual medical brigades to villages around El Progreso, Honduras. PODEMOS takes a community health approach, providing both acute and chronic care services to patients. We employ a strong team of in-country Honduran staff, including a local nurse, to ensure care for our patients year-round. PODEMOS has built a relationship with these communities and returns to these same communities every six months. PODEMOS is dedicated to providing quality, sustainable medical care to underserved communities in Honduras and a valuable educational experience to health professional students at The Ohio State University.Organization Type
